Emmy Award Nominations 2021 – Netflix

The 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony was held on May 24, 2021. The Crown from Netflix and The Mandalorian from Disney Plus topped the list with the most nominations. The nominations, for a TV season in the midst of a global pandemic, were announced by the Television Academy at a virtual event hosted by Jasmine Cephas Jones and Ron Cephas Jones.HBO and HBO Max combined for 130 nominations, followed by Netflix with 129. Disney Plus jumped significantly in the second year of eligibility with 71 nominations compared to last year.
Netflix’s “The Crown” and Disney Plus “The Mandalorian” received 24 out of 24 nominations, followed by Marvel and Disney Plus with “Wanda Vision” at 23 and Hulu’s “The Handmade Tale” at 21.
Primetime Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on CBS on Sunday, September 19, and live on Paramount Plus. Neighborhood star Cedric the Entertainer was just set to host the event, which will be followed by a virtual event at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles after 2020 with a limited audience of nominees and their guests.
