Shiddat Movie Synopsis
The story begins with Gautam, an Indian Foreign Services officer, marrying Ira, a lively social worker. Jaggi, a wedding attendee, causes a disturbance and is caught gatecrashing with his companions. Jaggi illegally crosses the border to reach London but is arrested and returned to Gautam’s consulate. Inspired by Gautam’s remarks, Jaggi tells him to reach London by Monday for his love. The film flashes back three months.
Hockey player Jaggi meets swimmer Kartika, and after a tough start, they spend time together teaching each other their sports. Sexual activity follows a party. Later, Jaggi asks Kartika why she didn’t tell him about her wedding. She apologises for being betrothed before meeting him. He says he loves her, and she instructs him to come to London after three months or she will cancel the wedding. After failing to secure a visa, he tries to enter illegally.
After hearing Jaggi’s story, Gautam admits his philosophy was a reception speech. Ira and Gautam are separated because Gautam told the government a street vendor was a refugee dwelling illegally. Ira, who sympathised with the boy, clashed with Gautam and departed.
Deport Jaggi to India. He flees but is apprehended after injuring himself defending Bilal. Jaggi misses his trip due to documentation issues. Gautam must maintain Jaggi for two days until the Monday am flight. On the walk home, Jaggi sees the other side of the English Channel and asks Gautam what’s there. Jaggi excitedly chuckles at Gautam’s remark that he can swim and cross the sea. While enjoying themselves, Jaggi notices a frock and wants to buy it for Kartika. Finally, after three months, he phones Kartika to ask about her dress size. She’s startled by Jaggi’s voice. Currently in France, he plans to arrive by Monday. She doesn’t trust him and thinks he’s joking, but her phone battery dies before they can talk. The next day, Jaggi convinces Gautam to proceed with his relationship and calls Ira to discuss it. Instead, Ira asks Gautam to sign divorce papers at the restaurant. He exits after signing the papers furiously. On the way home, Jaggi notices a swimsuit and wants to swim the English Channel in it. Angry, Gautam takes Jaggi to a swimming pool and makes him swim repeatedly, believing that swimming the 20-mile English Channel would be virtually suicide.
The next day, Gautam is astonished to discover Ira at his doorway and realises that Jaggi, who has disappeared, called her. Jaggi leaves a letter promising to find Kartika no matter what. To cross the UK, he joins the sea. Gautam and Ira fail to find him here. Kartika worries about him because Jaggi called her from a P.C.O. and said he’s coming over the channel.
Jaggi swims as far as he can but faints in the middle of the water. Strangers rescue him. Kartika learns from Gautam that Jaggi is safe and that he tried to cross the English Channel to reach her. He asks if she would have divorced if Jaggi had crossed the sea, but she’s puzzled and doesn’t know. She falls for Jaggi after seeing his deep love for her. She calls Jaggi to express her feelings and request a quick pick-up.
Gautam helps Jaggi illegally secure a passport with a UK visa because of their love. When Ira asks Gautam why he’s sacrificing his job for Jaggi, he says he felt bad since Jaggi was willing to do anything to reconnect with his love but he wasn’t. On their last visit, Jaggi tells Bilal everything.
Bilal betrays Jaggi to the police for a job, a house, and legal citizenship just before Gautam and Jaggi board the plane. Jaggi hides at the plane’s bottom when police seek for him.
At the end, Gautam and Ira reconciled and Gautam told his friends Jaggi’s love tale as they remembered him, saying that everyone has a love story and the only thing that unites them is its intensity.
