Twenty years have passed since the end of contemporary civilization in this series. Tasked with rescuing Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, from a restrictive quarantine zone, tough survivor Joel accepts the job. After accepting what seems like a simple job, they find themselves forced to travel throughout the United States and rely on each other for survival.

Joel and Ellie are played by Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, Wonder Woman 1984) and Bella Ramsey (HBO’s His Dark Materials and Game of Thrones).

In addition to Merle Dandridge (The Last of Us video games, The Flight Attendant) as resistance commander Marlene and Anna Torv (Fringe) as Tess, a smuggler and fellow hardened survivor, the cast includes Gabriel Luna (True Detective) as Joel’s younger brother and former soldier, Tommy.

Nico Parker (The Third Day) will play Joel’s daughter Sarah, while Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus) and Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) will play post-pandemic survivalists Frank and Bill, respectively; Storm Reid (Euphoria) will play an orphan named Riley in Boston, and Jeffrey Pierce (The Last of Us video games) will play a rebel named Perry in a quarantine zone.

Henry and Sam, played by guest star Lamar Johnson and series regular Keivonn Woodard, are siblings who have fled to Kansas City to avoid a revolutionary movement out for revenge.

Marlon and Florence, played by Graham Greene and Elaine Miles, are a married couple who have been forced to live alone in the Wyoming wilderness after the end of the world.

Who is the unseen player here?

Craig Mazin (HBO’s Chernobyl) and Neil Druckmann (The Last of Us, Uncharted) will pen the scripts and serve as executive producers for the series.

Along with Evan Wells of the original game’s creator, Naughty Dog, and Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan of PlayStation Productions, Carolyn Strauss (HBO’s Chernobyl and Game of Thrones) will serve as executive producer.
