James (Alexander Skarsgard) and Em (Cleopatra Coleman) are having the time of their lives while vacationing on an uninhabited island at a luxurious resort. They are taking advantage of the pristine beaches, attentive service, and plentiful sunshine. Nevertheless, under the guidance of the alluring and enigmatic Gabi (played by Mia Goth), they leave the resort grounds and find themselves immersed in a civilization that is rife with bloodshed, hedonism, and unspeakable evil. After a terrible accident, they are forced to implement a zero-tolerance policy for criminals, which means that you will either be put to death or, if you are wealthy enough, you can choose to watch yourself die instead.
When a terrible accident occurs on the fictitious island of La Tolqa, James and Em Foster are in the middle of an all-inclusive beach vacation when the resort’s twisted subculture of hedonistic tourism, reckless violence, and bizarre horrors is revealed.
